Cute Fishies / Aquarium journal

Meet the fish.

A few familiar faces from our July 2019 aquarium archive. These profiles describe the photographed fish, rather than a current livestock list.

Powder-blue coloring, a dark face, and a yellow dorsal fin make this fish easy to pick out among the corals.

The familiar faces of the reef

Orange, black, and white patterns bring plenty of personality to the aquarium. See their different markings in our photo archive.

A closer look

The yellow tang’s color stands out against the blue-lit reef. Yellow tangs feed primarily on algae, as described by Georgia Aquarium. The powder blue tang’s pale blue body, dark face, and yellow dorsal fin are its distinctive markings; LiveAquaria’s species profile offers more information.

Our photographs also show clownfish with different patterns. We have kept their label broad rather than guessing their exact species or color varieties from photographs alone.

Planning a reef of your own? These are photo profiles, not a stocking plan. Check the adult size, compatibility, and care needs of each species before choosing fish.
